Pre-Entry Education for Franchisees

I believe that it takes tremendous courage to be a franchisee. Even more so, knowing that the the Franchising Code of Conduct cannot protect potential franchisees from themselves.

The franchise community encourages prospective franchisees to complete pre-entry education and due diligence – thus determining that there is a difference between the two. But what?!

The notion of formal pre-entry education has been bandied around for many years yet ad hoc attempts exist.

I wonder why we are yet to see a consistent and accountable program on offer to individuals who are considering franchising.

What do you think?
